EA Nears Landmark $50 Billion Go-Private Deal with Silver Lake & Saudi PIF

Electronic Arts (EA), the publisher behind Battlefield, FC, and Madden, is reportedly in advanced talks to go private in a deal valued at approximately $50 billion. A consortium including Silver Lake, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), and Affinity Partners is said to be leading the buyout. If completed, it would be the largest leveraged buyout in history. The move comes as EA leans on its sports franchises to navigate a softer videogame market.
