A judge has ordered Peter Williams, a former executive at U.S. defense contractor L3Harris, to pay $10 million in restitution for selling advanced hacking tools to a Russian broker. Williams, who led the Trenchant division, leaked trade secrets used by Russian and Chinese state actors. Already serving a seven-year prison sentence, the $10 million penalty follows a $1.3 million forfeiture of illegal profits used for luxury purchases.
