Expanding Rural Internet Access Could Help India Reach Billion Digital Users: COO of Vodafone Idea

<p>India might reach a billion digital users by increasing the number of rural internet users, who currently number 35 crores compared to 43 crores in metropolitan regions according to a top executive of Vodafone Idea. Abhijit Kishore, chief operating officer of Vodafone Idea, said that non-data users in the demographic are hindered by the cost of bandwidth [tariffs] and lower purchasing power, preventing them from taking benefits of digital services.</p>
