"Gates Foundation Awards Historic $540 Million Grant to University of Washington"

The Gates Foundation has awarded a landmark 10-year, $540.2 million grant to the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME). The largest donation in the university's history will expand the Global Burden of Disease study from 925 to nearly 5,000 locations, providing critical, localized health data and forecasting to guide global public health policies and spending.
