Germany Opens Antitrust Probe Into Amazon With Tougher Law

<p>Using new legislation that enables it to forbid any anti-competitive behaviour at an earlier stage, Germany&#39;s antitrust watchdog announced that it has widened two investigations against American e-commerce giant Amazon. The cartel office now has additional authority to detect and forbid some businesses&#39; dominating positions thanks to changes to Germany&#39;s antitrust legislation for digital enterprises that went into effect last year.</p>
