Germany Opens Antitrust Probe Into Amazon With Tougher Law

<p>Using new legislation that enables it to forbid any anti-competitive behaviour at an earlier stage, Germany's antitrust watchdog announced that it has widened two investigations against American e-commerce giant Amazon. The cartel office now has additional authority to detect and forbid some businesses' dominating positions thanks to changes to Germany's antitrust legislation for digital enterprises that went into effect last year.</p>
