Google Commits $1 Billion to Equip Over 100 U.S. Universities with AI Training and Tools

Google has launched a three-year, $1 billion initiative to bolster AI education at U.S. nonprofit colleges and universities. The program, already adopted by over 100 institutions—including Texas A&M and the University of North Carolina—offers cash grants, cloud credits, and free access to the Gemini chatbot. Google aims to expand the initiative nationwide and is considering similar efforts globally, as it joins Microsoft and others in advancing AI readiness in academia.
