Google Fires Over 200 AI Contractors Amid Pay & Job Security Disputes
Google has laid off more than 200 contractors who worked on AI products like Gemini and AI Overviews, according to multiple reports. The affected workers—contracted through GlobalLogic and its subcontractors—are known as “super raters,” often with advanced degrees, responsible for refining AI responses. The cuts came in at least two rounds without notice.
