Google is acquiring Fitbit for $2.1 billion

<p>Google has confirmed the purchase of US wearable device maker Fitbit at $2.1 billion. Reportedly, the company has 28 million active users. Post announcing the news, Google SVP of devices and services said, “it is an opportunity to invest even more in Wear OS as well as introduce Made by Google wearable devices into the market.” The companies in a press release said that Fitbit’s health and wellness data will not be used for Google ads.</p>
