Google Settles Texas Privacy Lawsuits with $1.375 Billion Payout

Google has agreed to pay $1.375 billion to Texas to settle two lawsuits alleging violations of state data privacy laws. The suits accused Google of unlawfully collecting users' geolocation data, incognito search activities, and biometric information like voiceprints and facial geometry without consent. While Google did not admit wrongdoing, it stated that the claims pertain to outdated practices and that product policies have since been updated.
