Google To Lend Hand as Government Launches Crusade Against Illegal Lending Apps

<p>Alphabet-owned Google has been approached by the Government of India in helping fight the rise of illegal money-lending apps which are known for charging exorbitant interest rates. Google said in a statement that it will look into the matter and set up additional requirements for apps involving financial transactions on its website Google PlayStore. 95% of Android users in India rely on this service for downloading apps, including those which don’t follow guidelines.</p>
