Government Plans to Increase IT Hardware PLI Sops to Rs 17,000 crore

The Indian government is planning to increase the production-linked incentive (PLI) for the IT hardware sector to Rs 17,000 crore, more than double the previous amount. The move is part of a larger effort to boost local manufacturing and reduce India's dependence on imports. The government hopes that the increased incentives will encourage companies to set up manufacturing facilities in India, creating jobs and boosting the economy.
