Ground Control: Hispasat Secures Prime Role in EU’s €15.6 Billion IRIS² Network

As part of the SpaceRISE consortium, Spanish satellite operator Hispasat has been named prime contractor for the ground segment of the European Union’s IRIS² satellite constellation. Hispasat will lead the design, delivery, and operation of essential antenna infrastructure, control systems, and ground network connectivity for the massive, multi-orbital project, which aims to ensure the EU’s strategic communication autonomy by 2030.
