H-1B Visa Fee Hike Won’t Hit Indian IT Margins Hard

Equirus reports that the US’s new $100,000 fee for H-1B visa applicants is unlikely to materially affect margins of large- and mid-cap Indian IT firms. Cost impacts are estimated at only 7-14 basis points for large firms (new applicants), rising to 26-49 bps if extended to existing visa holders. Mid-caps could see 21-39 bps (new) or 60-109 bps (new + existing). Firms may offset via local hiring, offshoring or subcontracting.
