Hyundai Motors announces plans to self develop chips

<p>Hyundai Motors has become the latest automaker to announce plans to manufacture their own chips, in order to reduce dependence on suppliers. The chip shortage forced Hyundai to temporarily shut down some plants, said company COO Jose Munoz. Not wanting to be short of supply again, Hyundai is now working on in-house chip manufacturing, with Hyundai Mobis, the company's parts division, he added further.</p>
