India Approves 10 Semiconductor Projects Worth ₹1.6 Lakh Crore Across Six States

India’s semiconductor ambitions gain momentum as the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) approves 10 new chip and display units across six states, backed by central and state subsidies. These projects, with total investments nearing ₹1.6 lakh crore, span fabs, packaging, OSAT, and compound semiconductor activities. The initiative aims to strengthen domestic chip manufacturing, reduce dependency on imports, and enhance India’s role in the global semiconductor supply chain.
