India approves Google’s $4.5 bn deal with Jio Platforms

<p>Competition Commission of India has approved Google’s proposed investment of $4.5 b in Jio Platforms. Google, in July, announced the investment of $4.5 bn for a 7.73% stake in Mukesh Ambani owned company. Google and Jio Platforms, as per the deal, plan to develop low-cost, entry-level smartphones to serve the next hundreds of millions of users. The CCI, as per media reports, was said to be interested in reviewing the data-sharing agreement between the two. </p>
