Indian 5G sale sees Ambani's Reliance Jio as top buyer for $19B

<p>With an $11.13B investment, Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio was the most aggressive bidder in the 5G spectrum auctions. Google-backed Airtel spent $5.44B, while Vodafone Idea, the Indian division of British telecom giant Vodafone Group, and Idea Cellular, owned by billionaire Kumar Mangalam, spent $2.37B. With more than 420M members, the oil giant has established itself as India's largest wireless provider since starting its telecom business six years ago.</p>
