India's AI sector is witnessing heightened activity as entrepreneurs, researchers, and startups vie for support from the IndiaAI Mission. The government has allocated ₹1,500 crore (approximately $173 million) and subsidized computing resources to foster the development of sovereign AI models. Innovators like Ayush Gupta, Aaditya Kirti, and Sahil Gulati are among those eager to contribute. Proposals are accepted monthly, with the first deadline on February 15, 2025.
