India’s Data Centre Capacity to Exceed 4,500 MW by 2030 with $20–25 Billion Investment Surge

India's data centre capacity is projected to surpass 4,500 MW by 2030, driven by $20–25 billion in investments over the next 5–6 years, according to a Colliers report. This expansion is fueled by rising demand for digital services, AI, IoT, and supportive government policies. Mumbai leads with 41% of current capacity, followed by Chennai (23%) and Delhi-NCR (14%). The sector is also witnessing growth in edge data centres to meet low-latency needs.
