India’s Tech Leap: Polymatech Begins Sapphire Crystal Production in Chennai

Polymatech Electronics has commissioned a sapphire ingot crystal-growth furnace at its Chennai campus. The move aims to boost India's domestic semiconductor materials manufacturing capabilities. At full capacity, the machinery is expected to produce around 18,000 sapphire wafers annually. This yields billions of semiconductor dies for micro-scale devices. Polymatech plans further expansion with additional furnaces in Chhattisgarh.
