Ireland Hits Google with a €403M Fine for Secretly Tracking Users

Ireland’s Data Protection Commission fined Google €403 million ($463 million) for violating GDPR rules regarding user location tracking. The regulator found Google misled account holders and processed and retained location data without clear consent, hindering users' control over their personal data. Alongside the fine, Google was ordered to fix its data handling practices within six months.
