Jay Y Lee Appointed Executive Chairman of Samsung Amid Global Economic Crisis

<p>Two months after the heir got a presidential pardon that cleared the 54-year-criminal old's record, Samsung Electronics has named Jay Y. Lee as the executive chairman to run the largest smartphone and memory chipmaker in the world. After the passing of his father Kun-hee Lee, the late chairman of the Samsung Group, in 2020, Lee, who has served as vice chairman of Samsung since 2012, was tipped to become the company's new CEO.</p>
