Jio seeks spectrum for 5G trials for 'Aatmanirbhar' India, plans to sell tech overseas

<p>Reliance Jio has requested spectrum in high frequencies from Department of Telecom for conducting field trials of 5G telephony services in &quot;urban centres like Delhi and Mumbai&quot;. &quot; Jio has said, as high frequencies are already being used in developed countries, they want trails in India to make the country &quot;Aatmanirbhar&quot;. Radisys, a RIL subsidiary, has already started selling its 5G solutions to foreign companies. Auction of 5G spectrum is likely to happen in 2021.</p>
