Larry Ellison Purchases Oxford’s Historic “Eagle and Child” Pub, Plans Big Restoration

Larry Ellison, Oracle founder, has bought Oxford’s iconic Eagle and Child pub for $10.7 million and plans a major restoration with Foster + Partners. The pub’s front rooms will be restored to their 19th-century look, with a new artisan bakery beside it, fine-dining, and meeting spaces above. Opening is expected by spring 2027. Ellison is also investing in the Ellison Institute of Technology, focusing on AI and medical research.
