LiveKit Powers Real-Time Communications for Tech Giants and Emergency Services
LiveKit, an open-source platform founded by Russ d’Sa and David Zhao in 2021, enables developers to build real-time audio and video applications. The platform supports services like OpenAI's ChatGPT Voice Mode and handles approximately 25% of 911 emergency calls in the U.S. With over 500 paying customers, including Spotify, Meta, and Microsoft, LiveKit recently secured $45 million in Series B funding to expand its infrastructure and develop scalable AI communication tools.
