Media Matters has filed a federal lawsuit seeking to block an FTC investigation into purported coordination of ad boycotts against Elon Musk’s platform X. The group claims the probe—started by an all-Republican FTC—is retaliatory and politically motivated, urging the court to protect its investigative journalism under the First Amendment. Named defendants include FTC Chair Andrew Ferguson and two commissioners. Media Matters warns the probe is harming its ability to report on X and Musk.
