MeitY Secretary Advocates Enhanced Govt–Industry–Academia Collaboration for Tech Leapfrog

S. Krishnan, Secretary of India’s Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY), urged stronger collaboration between government, industry, and academia at Tec-Verse 2025 to fast‑track the nation’s technology advancement. He cited China’s DeepSeek AI as a model, announced a TCS–C-DAC sovereign cloud partnership, and plans to jointly fund 2D materials research. MeitY aims to leverage synergistic efforts rather than greenfield work to leapfrog capabilities and boost India’s global tech competitiveness.
