Meta Fires Employees and Contractors for Improperly Accessing Users’ Accounts

<p>Following an internal investigation that found they were inappropriately accessing users' accounts for motives including bribery, META, the parent firm of Facebook, has terminated or reprimanded scores of workers and contractors, including Meta security guards. The employees and contractors wrongfully used Facebook's internal mechanism for assisting password-forgetting users to reclaim their accounts — appropriately dubbed "Oops" — for profit for years.</p>
