Microsoft Invests $33B in Neoclouds to Boost AI Computing Capacity
Microsoft has committed over $33 billion to "neocloud" providers like Nebius, CoreWeave, Nscale, and Lambda to address the growing demand for AI computing power. A significant $19.4 billion deal with Nebius includes access to over 100,000 NVIDIA GB300 chips, supporting large language models and AI assistants. This strategy enables Microsoft to free up its own servers for customer services and offers financial flexibility by categorizing some costs as operational expenses.
