Modi Launches India’s ‘Swadeshi’ 4G Network, Connecting 26,700+ Remote Villages

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated BSNL’s “Swadeshi” 4G stack in Odisha, celebrating the company’s 25th anniversary. Over 97,500 mobile towers—92,600 of which use indigenous “swadeshi” tech—were commissioned at a cost of ₹37,000 crore. The cloud-based, future ready network can upgrade seamlessly to 5G. Over 26,700 remote, border, and conflict-affected villages, including 2,472 in Odisha, will gain access.
