Namakkal Restaurants Suspend Swiggy & Zomato Over Commission Dispute
Around 85 restaurants in Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, halted orders on Swiggy and Zomato, citing unfair commission structures, hidden advertising fees, and delayed payments. The Town and Taluk Hotels & Bakery Owners Association, in an emergency meeting on June 23, failed to resolve the issues, prompting the indefinite boycott—including cancelling pre-placed orders—to pressure platforms on transparency and pricing fairness.
