OpenAI Forecasts 220 Million Paid ChatGPT Users by 2030
OpenAI projects that by 2030, an estimated 220 million weekly users—8.5% of its total user base—will be paying for a ChatGPT subscription. This massive growth trajectory positions the AI chatbot as one of the world's largest subscription businesses. To diversify, OpenAI is also exploring new revenue streams via the introduction of shopping and advertising features.
