OpenAI Secures $40 Billion Investment Led by SoftBank, Valuing Company at $300 Billion

OpenAI has raised $40 billion in a funding round led by SoftBank elevating its valuation to $300 billion the highest for a private tech firm. The initial $10 billion investment includes $7.5 billion from SoftBank & $2.5 billion from an investor syndicate. The remaining $30 billion is contingent upon OpenAI's transition to a for-profit entity by year-end. This funding follows the announcement of Stargate a $500 billion AI datacenter initiative involving OpenAI, SoftBank, Oracle & Abu Dhabi's MGX.
