PayPal offers $45B bid for Pinterest acquisition

<p>PayPal has offered a $45B bid for digital pinboard website Pinterest. If accepted, it would become the biggest acquisition of a social media company, overtaking Microsoft's acquisition of LinkedIn for $26.2B in 2016. PayPal has offered $70 per share, to complete the deal mostly in stock, according to sources. While no deal is certain and terms could change, PayPal expects to finalise and a/nnounce the deal by Nov 8 when it reports quarterly earnings.</p>
