Redbox's Parent Company Sells Piracy Lawsuit Rights Amid Bankruptcy

Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, parent company of Redbox, has agreed to sell its "IP Litigation Assets" to Grove Street Partners for $100 million. These assets include rights to pursue Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) lawsuits against alleged online piracy, particularly targeting internet service providers (ISPs) that failed to act on infringement notices. Grove Street plans to finance the purchase through litigation funding, paying in five annual installments.
