Shipments of smartphones have fallen to their lowest level since pandemic

<p>As reports for Q2 start to come in, there are more smartphone issues. The category's modest gain was reversed by a 9% decline in global shipments for the quarter. The 287M units are the lowest number since the beginning of the pandemic in Q2 2020. Long-standing difficulties have come together to create new ones, including oversupply. Companies are stuck with back stock on older models due to waning interest.</p>
