Silicon Power Play: Soitec Secures Long-Term Contracts Amid AI Boom

French semiconductor materials manufacturer Soitec is securing multi-year supply agreements with fixed pricing and cash deposits as demand explodes for optical silicon-photonics wafers used in AI data centers. CEO Laurent Remont confirmed that photonics-SOI revenue is set to surpass $200 million this fiscal year, with over 10 major capacity reservation deals being finalized to keep up with surging hyperscaler infrastructure needs.
