Smartphone shipments witnesses growth after 4 years

<p>For the first time since 2017, the smartphone shipment market grew in 2021, according to a pair of reports from Counterpoint Research and IDC. The overall year-over-year growth rate, according to Counterpoint, is 4%, while IDC predicts 5.7%. Both firms, however, predicted a drop in Q4, with declines of 6% and 3.2%, respectively. Counterpoint Research and IDC ranked Samsung as the year&#39;s top performer, with a 6% increase, followed by Apple.</p>
