Taiwan Eyes High-Tech Strategic Partnership with U.S. to Boost Investment and Cut Tariffs

Taiwan is negotiating a high-tech strategic partnership with the United States aimed at reducing the 20% export tariff and expanding bilateral industrial cooperation. Rather than relocating supply chains, Taipei proposes a “Taiwan model” — increasing U.S. production capacity while keeping core manufacturing in Taiwan. Talks include export credits, strategic investment, and joint development of industrial clusters.
