Tesla is rolling out in-car voice assistant features in China powered by DeepSeek and ByteDance’s Doubao AI—both hosted on the Volcano Engine cloud platform. Doubao will handle voice commands for navigation, entertainment, climate control, and news, while DeepSeek manages AI-driven chat interactions. This move reflects a localization strategy to better align with tech-savvy Chinese consumers and navigate regulatory restrictions preventing U.S.-based AI deployment like Grok.
