TikTok temporarily bans new video creation, livestreams in Russia

<p>TikTok is halting new video uploads and Livestream on its app in Russia, citing the country's recently approved "fake news" law as the reason. "We have no choice but to suspend live streaming and new content to our video service in light of Russia's new 'fake news' law, while we assess the safety implications of this law." TikTok says on Twitter, "There will be no impact on our in-app messaging service." Russian President Vladimir Putin signed off on the fake news law last week.<br />
