Twitter Removes Pope's Verified Status, LeBron James Remains Verified

The Pope's Twitter account has lost its blue verified badge, indicating that it has not been recently confirmed as authentic by Twitter. In contrast, US basketball star LeBron James' account remains verified. Twitter says that accounts can lose their verified status if they violate the company's policies or if the account is inactive or incomplete. It is believed that Pope's account lost its verified status due to changes in the verification criteria.
