UPI Growth Slows as User Base Expands
India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) processed a record 18.3 billion transactions in March 2025, marking a 36% increase from March 2024's 13.44 billion. However, this growth rate has decelerated compared to the 54.7% surge observed between March 2023 and March 2024. Transaction value reached ₹24.77 lakh crore in March 2025, up 25.2% from the previous year, yet lower than the 40.3% growth seen in the prior period.
