Vivo's local unit evaded over $280M in import taxes, says India

<p>Vivo has avoided paying nearly $280M in customs tax, according to Indian authorities. About a month has passed since a raid by the nation's anti-money laundering organization on the Chinese company's domestic operations. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence during searches in the local branches found "incriminating evidence suggesting willful misdeclaration in the description of some commodities" imported by Vivo's India unit.</p>
