Level Playing Field for India's Satcom Market

Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stated that India does not permit monopolies in any sector, clarifying that satellite communications licenses have been granted to multiple players—including Reliance Jio, Eutelsat OneWeb, and SpaceX’s Starlink—with Amazon Kuiper following the same process. Commercial operations for all operators will begin once TRAI finalizes spectrum pricing and each provider satisfies national security compliance checks.
