Level Playing Field: India Imposes Uniform 5% GST Across Tech Platforms

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) clarified that a uniform 5% Goods and Services Tax (GST) applies to major digital platforms like Ola, Uber, Swiggy, Zomato, Amazon, and Flipkart—regardless of their operating or business structure. Designed to establish regulatory predictability and tax stability, the policy covers platforms connecting customers with third-party providers as well as those offering direct fulfillment services.
