CCI clears PayU's acquisition of BillDesk for $4.7B after a year

<p>The $4.7B acquisition of online payments company BillDesk by PayU has been approved by the CCI. The acquisition was officially announced in August 2021, but PayU, which is owned by Prosus, has had to wait a year to respond to the regulator's inquiries. PayU India stated that the proposed acquisition "included innovative examination by the CCI of dynamic digital markets" after learning of the CCI approval.</p>
