A University of Edinburgh study using AI to analyze routine heart scans discovered that individuals with denser chest and back muscles are significantly less likely to suffer a heart attack. Analyzing over 1,700 patients, the AI found that muscle composition—not size—is key: higher muscle density and less marbled fat correlated with a 31% lower risk of heart attacks and a 39% lower mortality rate over a decade.
