Ecommerce framework for countering fake reviews, ratings has been drafted

<p>The government has prepared a draught framework of guidelines on how to deal with phoney reviews and star ratings on e-commerce sites as well as platforms for booking travel and lodging. It is currently seeking agreement on the subject through conversation with e-commerce platforms. Consumers cannot distinguish between genuine and paid reviews of goods and services due to the widespread use of fraudulent or unverified reviews. These rules will soon be made public.</p>
