Legacy Integration Flaw: Lenovo Login Bug Exposes 5,000 Dropbox Accounts
Around 5,000 Dropbox accounts were compromised in August 2026 after hackers exploited a legacy integration flaw in Lenovo ID's email verification system. The vulnerability allowed attackers to bypass multi-factor authentication using victims' email addresses, accessing and downloading stored files on under a third of affected accounts. Dropbox has since severed the link, reset user sessions, and secured impacted accounts.
